SEE+Δ (SEE Positive Change) is an environmental film library and impact distribution initiative from Plastic Oceans International. We use short documentaries and structured dialogue to build systems understanding around today’s environmental challenges.
Our approach moves audiences beyond awareness to define the actionable system behind an environmental challenge—what they are actually trying to change, who shapes that system, what remains unclear, and where deeper inquiry needs to begin.

Actionable System
Define what needs to be understood next
Using our Level 1 Systems Literacy Reader, the dialogue transcription is transformed into a report that defines the actionable system: what the group is actually trying to change, who shapes that system, what remains unclear, and the immediate coordination question that needs to be investigated before meaningful action can move forward.
Why it works
Complex environmental systems are difficult to understand through theory alone. Film makes abstract challenges visible, human, and easier to relate to. When paired with structured dialogue, it creates a shared reference point that allows participants to compare perspectives, surface assumptions, and connect a global environmental challenge to the system surrounding action in their own context.
This shared understanding creates the foundation for systems inquiry: identifying who shapes the system, what remains unclear, and what needs to be investigated before coordinated action can move forward.
Our model builds on more than a decade of experience at Plastic Oceans International using film to create shared experiences and meaningful conversations. SEE+Δ extends that approach beyond awareness—using film and dialogue as an accessible entry point to systems literacy and more informed environmental action.
