The Fisherman, the Alien, the Sea is an intimate look into the fishing community in the Goro lagoon, Delta of Po River, Italy. In June 2023, the population of blue crabs boomed unexpectedly. A young fourth-generation fisherman, Alessio Tagliati, is the leader of a small cooperative of clams farmers that has lost all their production to the blue crabs’ voracity. He now faces a new environmental challenge. He revives a traditional sustainable fishing technique his grandfather taught him and follows what the sea taught him: be ready to adapt to an environment that continuously changes, and show tremendous resilience in the face of a collapsing world.
